Center for Creative Works

Hey lovely followers,

I just wanted to ask everyone if they would be amazing and go to https://www.facebook.com/CenterforCreativeWorks and like the page!

This is the Facebook for a non-profit organization I work at that helps adults with developmental disabilities by allowing them to be creative and explore different mediums to express themselves. We guide them and try to make an environment where they feel safe and that stimulates them to have better self-esteem. We also try to have art shows in different galleries where they can present their work and feel part of the community. When they sell their work part of the profits goes to the artist and a little bit to the center to be able to keep the place running and have all the supplies they need to keep creating.

The participants are amazing human beings and have taught me infinite lessons that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise, I have never met anyone as caring and loving as them.

I am also setting up an Etsy shop that will hopefully be available soon with cards, ceramics and paintings they have done as well as a couple other treats. Once it is all done I will upload the link and would love for everyone to check it out and maybe buy a couple things. Their artwork is beautiful.

Please spread the word and show us some support, we would really appreciate it!

THANKS!!!

Again, sorry, not the best pictures but I did not have my camera with me and took them with my phone. This is the final book I was working on and the one I did the title page for. The type was a challenge because I have not worked with watercolors in about three years but it was fun.

Ok so first of all, I’m totally sorry for the picture quality!

Second, I took those pictures super fast in terrible lightning and I already gave the journal to the client so I suck.

Third, this is a journal I made for a client who was traveling to Korea to see if he could find out who his birth parents are because he was adopted when he was 2 and moved to the US. It is a very emotional situation and he loved the journal, so I was happy to help keep his thoughts and findings together in a beautiful book he could take with him on his journey. The picture on the inside I printed for him in a speckletone paper, while the rest of the inside is a fancy lux paper with great texture.

Trying to figure out some type for the title page of a book I’m making for a client.

Type sketches!!! This one is for a client who’s son just got married and wants me to put together a book of well wishes from friends and family. I will probably end up doing it all in watercolor and ink.
More updates to come as I work on it.

Books for Pointed Press. Doing this relaxes me, plus the final product is going to be amazing! Hopefully will have more pictures coming up.
